System requirements

What RecoveryDesk needs

The computer

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • About 400 MB of disk space, plus your own list.
  • A normal user account. The installer does not need an administrator, and the application never asks to elevate.
  • No database, no server, no integration with your practice management system.

Where your data lives

One encrypted file in the signed-in user’s application data folder (%APPDATA%\RecoveryDesk\data). It is encrypted with Windows DPAPI, so it can be read by that Windows account on that computer and by nothing else. Copying the file to another machine gets you ciphertext.

Installing, updating and uninstalling never touch that folder. Backups are a separate, deliberate action inside the application, and they are encrypted with a passphrase the practice chooses.

What it does on your network

Four destinations, all on reviveincome.com over HTTPS, and nothing else:

  • Activation — once, when the licence is first entered.
  • Revalidation — a weekly check that the licence is still current. If it cannot reach us, nothing changes.
  • Device release — when you hand a computer back or lose one.
  • Updates — checking for one, and downloading it if you ask for it.

Each of those requests carries four things: your activation code, a one-way hash that identifies the installation, the application version and the Windows version. No patient information is ever sent, to us or to anyone. There is no telemetry, no usage tracking, no crash reporting and no cloud storage in this application. The window itself cannot open a network connection at all.

If your firewall allows HTTPS to reviveincome.com, RecoveryDesk works. If it does not, RecoveryDesk still works — activation can be completed with a file we email you, and everything after that is local.

Computers per licence

Three at a time — front desk, manager, spare. You can release one from inside the application when you replace a machine, including releasing a computer that has been lost or stolen.
